6 Resin Pieces (2 truckload "blobs" and 4 tarp rolls) molded in light gray
Review Type:
Pre-assembly Review
Things I really liked:
Each piece is unique so two fully-loaded vehicles can be modeled with no duplication at all. Each piece represents very common items found on any allied WWII vehicle and most items are generic and could be used with modern NATO vehicles also. Each piece is molded individually with no base to remove and virtually no cleanup is required.
Things that could be better:
There's not much room for improvement with this set, it is excellent just the way it is.
Value:
At the time of purchase this set sold for $11.50 (US) which is an outstanding value since each set details two vehicles.
Recommendation:
Highly recommended for use with any 1:72 scale allied truck with a cargo bed of 1in. x 1 7/8in. (25mm x 46mm) or larger.
Today I'm reviewing the 1/72 scale Allied Truck Blobs #AT4 made by Value Gear Details. The set is packaged in a clear ziploc-style bag securely stapled to a glossy color card stock backer.
This set comes with an 6 unique pieces, designed to detail two allied trucks. This is how the parts come right out of the bag, with no cleanup required at all. Molding is very crisp with impressive details.
The two large "blobs" measure 1in. x 1 7/8in. (25mm x 46mm) and should fit any allied "Deuce and a Half" size truck such as the CCKW. Nearly all of the items in the "blobs" are universal so they might also be useful with Post War NATO trucks like the Zil-157 or Zil-131.
Each part varies in shape and size so you'll end up with two vehicles loaded completely different.
The level of detail is really impressive, equal to or better than any resin set I've seen, with a nice mix of crates, tarps and fuel cans.
CONCLUSION: This is a very impressive set with a price that lives up to it's name Value Gear. This set will really spice up your small scale vehicle without spending an arm and a leg!
