Each of the 37 pieces is completely unique with no duplication. Each piece is designed to be generic so it can be used with nearly any era of vehicle. Each piece is molded separately without a base to remove, there is virtually no cleanup required at all. The light gray resin shows detail really well.
Things that could be better:
I can't think of anything that would improve this set. It's great just like it is.
Value:
At the time of purchase this set sold for $11.50 (US) which is an outstanding value considering the large quantity of pieces included.
Recommendation:
Highly recommended for use with any era 1:72 scale vehicles.
Today I'm reviewing the 1/72 scale Universal Tent, Tarp & Crates Set #2 made by Value Gear Details. The set is packaged in a clear ziploc-style bag securely stapled to a glossy color card stock backer.
This set comes with an 37 unique pieces, enough to detail a small army of kits. No cleanup has been performed at all, this is exactly how they come out of the bag. Molding is very crisp with impressive details.
The large selection of different sized parts makes it easy to fill in just about any space. All parts in the set are "universal" and should be suitable for any era or time, they look right at home on my Heller VAB.
Tarps come in a nice variety of sizes so it was easy to find just the right length to fit on my old ESCI Morris Quad.
I decided to fill this Dragon HMMWV to the brim and only used about a quarter of the set. I'm normally much more stingy with my resin parts but this set is very reasonably priced which allows me to push the envelope for a change.
CONCLUSION: I'm very impressed with this kit and recommend it highly. It's a great way to spice up virtually any collection of small scale vehicles and do it on a budget at that!
